SCHOLARSHIPS

The good work of The Corry Community Foundation is only made possible through the foresight and generosity of our donors. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for Corry residents by evaluating and addressing community issues, building permanent charitable endowments, and promoting philanthropic and community leadership.
Apply for a Grant
Standard Grants are for requests over $3,500 and are awarded biannually in April and October. Grant application deadlines are March 1 and September 1.
Mini Grants are for requests of $3,500 or less and are awarded bimonthly beginning in February; grant application deadlines are the first business day in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Apply for a Scholarship
Each year, the Corry Community Foundation awards scholarships to students throughout the area. Last year, the Corry Community Foundation awarded over $105,850 to 51 deserving students.
Each scholarship is distinct, and recipients are selected under criteria established by the donor. Please visit the Corry Area High School guidance office to apply for a scholarship.
Larry Amy Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduate enrolled in an accredited four-year higher education institution who has completed their first year, has an excellent attendance record, and has demonstrated commitment to community service. Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program
Idabelle B. Anthony Scholarship
Corry Area High School graduates with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA who plan to major in education are eligible. Preference will be given to students enrolled at Penn West University or Westminster College.
Terry Babcock Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduating senior who is enrolled full-time in an accredited college or science school entering the field of biology, marine biology, or veterinarian science. Selection will be based on financial need and scholastic record.
CCF Bennett Scholarship
Corry Area High School graduates attending a four-year college who maintain a 2.5 GPA and are participating in a varsity sports team are eligible for this scholarship. Primary consideration will be given to a wrestler at a Division 1 college. Secondary consideration may be awarded to an eligible varsity track and field athlete attending a Division 1 college. With a lack of applicants for Division 1, priority will be given to wrestlers and track and field athletes attending either Ivy League, Division 2 or Division 3 colleges. If there are no eligible candidates under the above criteria, the selection committee shall award the scholarship to Corry’s most outstanding senior athlete attending a four-year college.
Corry EUM James Bugbee Scholarship Fund
Recipients must be in active fellowship with the church family of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Corry, with preference given to high school seniors. The following characteristics will be considered when choosing the recipient: wholesome Christian relationship with peers; high achiever; attitude; dependability; good steward of time and means; resourcefulness; honesty; congenial and friendly; financial need.
Louise Butters Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduating senior.
Corry High School Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduating senior.
Farver Family Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduate attending a two-year technical, nursing or art program. The scholarship will be given based on financial need and scholastic record.
Joseph Gentileman Scholarship
This scholarship is given to a Corry Area High School graduating senior enrolled full time in an accredited college or science school. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic record
HE Football Scholarship
Varsity football players graduating from Corry Area High School are eligible for this scholarship. Candidates must be accepted and registered to attend a four-year college or vocation program. Preference will be given to players maintaining at least a “B” GPA.
William P. Hayes Scholarship
Parents or grandparents of the applicant for this scholarship were employed at Erie County Plastics Corporation (ECPC).
Barbara Keppel-Graham Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Corry Area High School graduating senior enrolled full-time at an accredited institution entering the field of nursing. Selection is based on financial need, scholastic record, and the required essay.
Diana M. Lewis Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is open to Corry Area High School seniors or graduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA who are obtaining a degree in human services. Preference will be given to social work majors.
Rebecca A. Lewis Memorial Adult Scholarship
Applicants must have been residents of the Corry, Union City or Clymer, NY school districts since at least September 1 of the preceding year and turn at least 25 by September 1 of the current year. In addition, applicants must be participating financially in their education to a level at least equal to the scholarship and be enrolled in a certificate or degree program, taking a minimum of three credits per semester.
Howard and Teresa McMullin Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded primarily based on financial need to students with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
Paul & Vera Meerdink Award
This scholarship is awarded to a Corry Area High School graduating senior who has been nominated by a family member or someone from the school or community who knows the student well. Selection is based on outstanding citizenship and moral character; nominees do not have to be college-bound.
Terry Parker Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be Corry Area High School graduating seniors. Selection is based on outstanding performance in the study of science.
Corry EUM Tammy Rath Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be in active fellowship with the church family of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Corry, with preference given to high school seniors. The following characteristics will be considered when choosing the recipient: wholesome Christian relationship with peers; high achiever; attitude; dependability; good steward of time and means; resourcefulness; honesty; congenial and friendly; financial need.
Trooper Jacques “Jay” Rougeau Memorial Scholarship
Created by the Class of 2012 in loving memory of their class president and friend, Jay Rougeau, this scholarship is awarded to a Corry Area High School student. Applications are available in the guidance office at the Corry Area Middle High School.
Elizabeth J. Smiley Scholarship
Applicants must be a graduating senior or graduate of Corry Area High School. Preference will be given to library science and accounting majors.
Elizabeth & Donald Watson Scholarship
The scholarship is given to a Corry Area High School graduating senior.
